The possibility of the soon rise of the antichrist.

Updated: May 21, 2023

The revealing of the antichrist or the son of perdition.

To be proper, the first beast of Revelation 13 = Son of perdition. The second beast of Revelation 13 = Antichrist or Satan.

John 17:12

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Within scripture there are two sons of perdition spoken of.

Here in John 17:12 is Judas who betrayed Jesus is referred to as the son of perdition.

2 Thessalonians 2:3

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

KJV

Here in scripture this is the second reference, or to another called the son of perdition.

As many begin to see the possibility of the soon rise of the “so called” “antichrist” should be “son of perdition” I have given several Places in scripture to help understand. I thought this would help.

Israel goes through a war (Psalm 83) and then there comes a time when a special person grows in prominence, set to intervene, the Bible predicts an evil dictator will come to power before the end of the world and he will charm his way into power. The son of perdition will be a highly skilled politician and he will be an inspirational speaker, able to exploit demonic magnetism to mesmerize people out of their freedom. He will represent the symbol of all rejection of God’s will.

Revelation 13:6-8

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

KJV

The Prophet Daniel foresaw that by flattery he would deceive and corrupt.

Daniel 11:31-32

31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.

KJV

Micah 5:5

5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Isaiah 10:5

5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

KJV

Please note he is an Assyrian, from Assyria.

Keep in mind of the twenty signs, some have to do with the mid-seven-year tribulation.

1. He will exalt himself.

2. He will heed his inner voice above others.

3. He will be hostile toward the true God.

4. He will exalt human logic above faith.

5. He will prosper for a season and be loved.

6. He will not desire women.

7. He will not follow the faith of his fathers.

8. He will viciously persecute Jews and Christians.

9. He will think of himself as greater than God.

10. He will become increasingly lawless.

11. He will honor military power above faith.

12. He will love wealth.

13. He will hoard precious things.

14. He will become a man of war.

15. He will wage a war on all people of faith.

16. He will force Israel to ratify a treaty.

17. He will attempt to divide Israel and Jerusalem.

18. He will invade Jerusalem.

19. He will enter the restored Temple.

20. He will declare himself above God.

The timing? We don't and can't know.

The Church must be raptured before the antichrist is revealed, this I see and understand in scripture.

interesting list of traits for this son of perdition; i've always wondered and pondered on who this might be-- Judas being one of the 12 disciples, being close to Jesus, betrayed the Lord; would the son of perdition be another of Jesus' followers, like someone within the Church now?? who is really a deceiver and will soon be revealed as someone with great charisma, with abilities to persuade in speech and actions??

Thanks, Ross for this interesting study!

Replying to

interesting point. Remember after the rapture there will be no Christians. So I don’t think the AC has to have a Christian background although you may be correct
