It is becoming apparent that Israel is willing to follow through with the original deal stipulated by the cease-fire that it could be extended up to a total of 10 days, this including the first four days that have already taken place. Israel has also agreed to release more prisoners at a rate of 30 per day and this is to be of women, and minors from Israeli prisons.
It appears Israel's main goal is for Hamas to release all the women and children. Then and only then will Israel be willing to go past the 10-day ceasefire but under certain conditions. They are calling it a follow-on-agreement. The follow up stipulation, all women and children hostages to be released first “must” be released and this not complete at this time. When this is accomplished, a new agreement could be reached separately, so other agreements are possible, this according to Netanyahu.
Information coming from several sources are asking the question of, how far will Hamas go before they believe they lose their ability to use hostages as leverage? These hostages are a powerful tool for Hamas. Israel believes Hamas is still holding 30 to 40 women and children, half of ages 21 to 50 and at least nine children. Hamas may want to hold on to them for future negotiation.
We can expect pressured talks prompting Israel to continue the hostage-for-prisoner swap including humanitarian aid, this in hopes to extend the ceasefire past the 10 days. Definitely, the pressure building.
These next few days will allow us to see how firm Israel is, stressing that further releases would not lead to a permanent cease-fire. A turning point will be at the end of the original 10-day cease-fire agreement.
Israel remains committed to eliminate Hamas, a key aim of Israeli military and this comes from several sources within Israel.
Astounding! An increasing call for all hostages to be freed, for all Palestinian prisoners including those convicted of murder and those captured on October 7 and an end to the war, at this time, so far Israel is completely rejecting. This call is heard by more and more as we go on.
We are in a very unusual time and for all practical purposes, and not seen, an easy road for Israel to take, no avenue to go down to lessen the pressure and stress.
Being a Christian and understanding eschatology is it possible that we are seeing a time that only can be corrected by a Divine intervention of our heavenly Father. If so, all of this and I repeat all of it would be solved as told in Scripture by Asaph the prophet and Paul the apostle, Psalm 83, 1 Thessalonians 5:3 respectively, as we discussed before in past videos and blogs.
Very interesting times were living in, we’ll patiently wait and see what happens next. Not much time left for Israel.
Thanks for the update, Ross!
this is all getting soo exhausting; i still believe the lull or cease-fire is being used for the enemies' advantage in setting up for a surprise attack; when, is the question.
and so we watch and wait and listen.
It is more than a little interesting how the UN general assembly is calling for Israel to withdrawal from the Golan heights. This seems to be something that refers to the original borders as defined in accordance to the 1967 security council resolution. The vote tally has shown clearly that there are very few countries that support Israel and do indeed support Palestine. They are calling for Peace and Security and for all parties to resume the peace talks.
I don't believe Israel will not be able to go back to the war they started, the worlds pressure on ending this war quickly has become the main goal now.
I can't see this so-called temporary cease fire continuing without Hamas…
I saw this article yesterday and wondered if there were any thoughts about it? This is the second time I’ve read something about a ceasefire until spring. It came from BubbaNews on Telegram Dated 11/28.
“So there are reports tonight about talks on a MEGA-deal: Which would Release ALL the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza in exchange for a MASSIVE release of Palestinian terrorists, plus A LONG CEASEFIRE (probably until spring); some Israeli ministers say NO WAY.”
Thanks Ross! So happy to see this so early! I keep wondering why israel keeps telling Hamas they will continue to fight them even after the hostages are released rather than holding their cards closer to their chest In order to get the rest of the hostages released. It would seem, as you say, they will not release all but hold on to the rest for future ceasefires (to regroup). Israel has such a history of giving in - it seems only God can end this because Israel can’t seem to.
