A commotion in and about Syria. A stirring of leaves in the mulberry trees.

Taking into account Isaiah 17 Syria commotion should be up-front in our thoughts, An action of God, seems to be around or about the same time as the sudden destruction, as Paul notes in 1 Thessalonians 5:3.

Isaiah 17 verse 3 “they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts“. This land will end up being part of Israel's coinciding with the Works of God in Psalm 83 or can we say at least the timing is of interest.

Isaiah 17:1-3

1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts. KJV

Epkhraim the second son of Joseph and a grandson of Jacob. His name means “doubly fruitful,” because “God has made [Joseph] fruitful in the land of [his] suffering” (Genesis 41:52).

Note, “they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.” - Israel shall not be afraid,

living peacefully and feeling safe.

Verse 1. [The burden of Damascus] The oracle indicating calamity or destruction to Damascus, "Damascus is taken away." That is, it shall be destroyed. It was represented to the prophet in vision as destroyed. (from Barnes' Notes,)

Also note that Aroer in ancient times would be today a large part of Jordan and could be in part Judea and Samaria, or West Bank.

Understanding the use of the word “burden” A burden of Damascus, as in Zechariah 12. The burden of the Lord. An action of God. Notice the wording of “burden” as in meaning of something that is God’s responsibility, His works.

In probability this land will be cleared for Israel to feel safe from anything coming from the east.

I find all of this very interesting at this time as this would be the continuing of fulfilling more end-time prophecies.
